Dr. Chris Nelis, a graduate of Hope College and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his dental practice. His education at Detroit Mercy provided him with invaluable hands-on training in a top-tier clinical setting. Following dental school, Dr. Nelis completed a general practice residency at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, IL where he gained advanced skills in oral surgery, dental implant placement, emergency medicine, special needs dentistry, and Invisalign® orthodontics.
Raised in Zeeland, MI, Dr. Nelis and his wife, Lauren, are proud graduates of Zeeland East High School and Hope College. During his college years, Dr. Nelis was an integral member of the Hope Men's Basketball team, eventually serving as team captain. His athletic background instilled in him qualities of leadership, discipline, and teamwork, which he seamlessly integrates into his dental practice. These attributes, honed through years of competitive sports, have shaped his approach to patient care, emphasizing collaboration, dedication, and a commitment to achieving the best outcomes for his patients. Dr. Nelis's practice is a reflection of his belief in the power of teamwork and his dedication to providing exceptional dental care.
Although Dr. Nelis and his wife, Lauren, cherished their time spent in Royal Oak and Chicago, IL, they knew the environment of West Michigan was where they would want to raise their two children, Bennett and Rylee. Happily settled in this vibrant community, Dr. Nelis and his family are surrounded by friends and loved ones. They feel truly fortunate to call West Michigan home and are excited to serve and contribute to the well-being of the people in this great community.

Dr. Nelis has completed the Essentials Continuum with the Pankey Institute and is currently enrolled in the prestigious Kois Center. Recently, he achieved the status of fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry, a testament to his commitment to excellence in dental care. His ongoing education ensures that he stays updated with the latest advancements in dentistry, providing his patients with the highest standard of treatment.
Dr. Nick Racine was born and raised on the east side of Michigan near Flint. The youngest of five children, his parents often joke that he was raised by his siblings. Growing up he always had a strong admiration for the work his father did as a dentist in Clio, Michigan. Inspired to pursue his own career as a dentist, Dr. Racine attended Michigan State University where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology, graduating with high honors.
Following graduation from Michigan State, Dr. Racine made the move to Ann Arbor to attend the University of Michigan School of Dentistry where he excelled in both academic and clinical studies. During his time there, he and his wife Alexa lived on a 140-acre farm where they developed their love for gardening, wildlife and fly fishing. Dr. Racine is immensely grateful for his time at the University of Michigan where he established a sound clinical foundation and experienced tremendous growth as a healthcare professional.
Now, he and his wife are thrilled to put roots down in West Michigan. Known for his approachable and friendly nature, Dr. Racine creates a welcoming environment for his patients. He has a genuine passion for dentistry and a deep commitment to improving his patients' oral health and overall well-being. He strives to stay at the forefront of his field through continuous education.
Dr. Racine takes pride in providing exceptional care with a warm demeanor. His standard of quality work is evident in his meticulous attention to detail and use of the latest dental technologies and techniques. Outside of the office, Dr. Racine enjoys family life with his wife, Alexa, and their daughter Juniper. Together they share a love for all things active and outdoors.
